Coronavirus currently has us all in lockdown, and like everyone else, we’re affected by the measures taken to reduce the impact of virus.
We therefore took the decision to make changes to the Connected York app, and are offering the app to ALL businesses free of charge for the next few months.
We want to give all the support we’re able to – helping people find essential services and new services – such as delivery and collection. Also, retailers still need to retail. Some can adapt and unfortunately, some are unable to.
You will notice some changes to the app as we have focussed on how Coronavirus has affected the way we use retail – as well as what we use it for. As government guidelines change and get updated – so do we. So currently we’ve adapted the app to reflect this – but that’s not to say we can’t change it again (that’s the beauty of a digital solution!).
Coronavirus and business
For those where it is appropriate – we’re asking that they use the app to create a profile and let residents know if they are open – do they deliver (where previously, they didn’t) or do they offer advice, help and other support – such as activities for kids to do at home whilst in isolation?
We know we have to work together and support our friends, family – and the businesses who we’ve relied on when times are good.
